Folk dance ensemble "Proleter" is one of the oldest in Bosnia and Herzegovina. "Proleter" was witness and participant in many political and social events in ex Yugoslavia. It began with chorus section and developed activity in folk dance, brass music, music section, school of ballet, modern dance etc.
The basic task of the ensemble is to preserve cultural heritage and customs of the people who live in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The ensemble was founded in 1905. It participated in various events and festivals around the world (Algeria, Poland, Italy, France, England, Holland, Turkey, Serbia, Greece, Austria, Germany).

 

 

 

 

 

CROATIAN FOLK DANCE ENSEMBLE " HERCEGOVAC" ŠIROKI BRIJEG

"Hercegovac" was founded in1996. for the West Herzegovina Canton. Members of the ensemble are from Posušje, Grude, Siroki Brijeg and Ljubuski. "Hercegovac" has more than 200 members. Ensemble achieved very impressive results, both on local and international folklore scene. The best proof of success are their performances in the country and abroad. They performed in Italy, Germany, Hungary, Poland, Croatia, Bulgaria, Macedonia, Sweden, Lithuania, Turkey, the United States and Canada.

 

 

 

Serbia

ACADEMIC FOLK DANCE ENSEMBLE "SVETOZAR MARKOVIC", KRAGUJEVAC

Academic Folk Dance Ensemble "Svetozar Markovic" from Kragujevac cherishes tradition of this area, through the folk dances ensemble, orchestra, male and female vocal groups. Their repertoire coveres almost all areas of Serbia and Montenegro and other areas where the Serbian people live and keep its tradition. The ensemble has performed in all major cities of the former Yugoslavia and in many European countries. The audience applauded them across Germany, Poland, France, Belgium, Italy, Romania, Hungary, Latvia, Estonia, Turkey, Greece.

 

 

 

Slovenia

Folklore Group Emona

In 1967 a group of lovers of folklore founded the Folk Group Emona. Among them was also Bruno Ravnikar, a honorary member of CIOFF. The dance group was named after Emona,a roman settlement on a range of today's Ljubljana. Next to joyful gathering and making new friendships members also kept rich Slovene cultural heritage and present it among people. With dance, singing and folk music they pleased a lot of viewers. The group was uniting many folk enthusiasts during years; some of them are with us from the beginnings. Nowadays we also follow those fundamental aims and we upgrade the offer of FS Emona constantly.

 

 

 

 

 

Bulgaria

"GRAOVO ENSEMBLE"

The very beginning was in the distant 1953 when the first metallurgical factory in Bulgaria started working. A group of young enthusiasts, united after their love towards Bulgarian folklore song and dances, decided to create their own ensemble, in which they could do these activities. Bulgarian folk dances display complex choreography. They have been created over the course of centuries. Bulgarian traditional folk dances are characterized by variety and wealth of movements, combined with even more complex rhythm and music..

Hungary

Mecsek Junior Folk Dance Ensemble

The Mecsek Junior is the junior group of the Mecsek Folk Dance Ensemble, with 33 members, aged between 11-16 years. The group is working in the frame of the János Berze Nagy Folk Art School. Beside the acquirement of folk dances, the group also aims at showing the traditions on stage, giving wide view to the entire complexity of dances, songs, costumes and customs.

FOLKLOR KURUMU

The Turkish Folklore Association, founded in 1964, aims to make researches on Turkish Folklore, to form performance groups to present folk dances, to help tourism by presentation activities, both home and abroad, to teach folklore to younger generations and to publish scientific works on Turkish Folklore.
Our members (university students, businessmen, teachers, lawyers, managers etc.) are the main force of our society in continuing this activity for 42 years.

" GVANIM RISHON LE ZION "

 

Gvanim Rishon le Zion ensemble perform a wide repertoire, which includes primarily Israeli folk and traditional Jewish dances, created for the troupes by the best of Israel's choreographers.

The ensembles also perform international folk dances, contemporary and modern Israeli dances. This blend of old and new dances provides a stimulating and memorable performance.

 

 

 

Ghana

DZA NYONMO DANCE ENSEMBLE

 

DZA NYONMO DANCE ENSEMBLE is from Nima-Maamobi , a suburb of Accra the capital city of Ghana. It was "born" on the 6th May 1996. It is one of the  largest amateur groups and the most effective entertainment group in Ghana. Their dances are highly energetic and entertaining while reflecting their country's rich cultural diversity and heritage.
